Courses were taken abroad at Dokkyo University, Saitama, Japan
Reflective Narrative:
Before going studying abroad in Japan, I decided to myself that I wanted to make a significant change in the proficiency of my Japanese. I decided that I wanted to make he most out of my time abroad to learn Japanese and have fun as well. Before actually leaving to Japan, I wanted to review and study new grammar and vocabulary.
While abroad, I was surprised but glad that all of my classes were taught in Japanese and that we could not use any English at all. The only time I was able to speak English was in my dorm with my roommates. One of the techniques I used abroad was to take what I learned from my classes or from self study, and asked many questions to my friends who were willing to help me. I believed that was what helped me improve the most in my time there. Now that I have returned back to the U.S., I decided that I did not want me efforts to go to waste and continue my studies.
