Reflective Narrative:
JAPN 380: Japan: Land and People was a class taught primarily in Japanese. We had to analyze different types of data, graphs, and information relating to Japanese culture and reigions in Japan. Then after analyzing the information, we presented what we learned through groups. The high demand of constantly using Japanese was really beneficial for m as well as my classmates. We gained not only research and communication skills but a deeper understanding of Japanese festivals, the land structure and climate, and current social issues in Japan. Through completing this class I feel that my level of Japanese has increased from new and difficult vocabulary as well as the presentations which help solidify what we learned. In the future, these skills will help in communication, research and technology, as well as cultural awareness which why I believe this class has the fulfillment of MLOS 1, 2, and 4.
